For almost three decades, Chef Michael and his team have journeyed across continents, documenting rich food traditions, authoring captivating cookbooks, and founding a leading Boutique Media House. From travel to food and wildlife, their work tells vibrant stories, weaving together the threads of culture, flavor, and innovation.
Growing up in Mumbai, Chef Michael's passion for food and film was ignited early. His creative journey led him to pursue further studies in the culinary arts after interning with Virleo, a prominent production house, during his school and college years. As a pioneer in food media, Michael has carved a niche as a chef, food stylist, food writer, and travel photographer based in Mumbai, India. A proud graduate of the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, London, Michael has conceptualized and managed major food shows on various GEC and international niche channels, earning recognition in the industry.
Michael's expertise extends to working as a Chef Consultant with Indian wildlife resorts, where he has curated forest menus in the mountains of Uttarakhand. This experience has helped him create a unique market for himself. His collaboration with brands like Pesca Fresh, Circee Health, and plant-based food companies has driven him to explore food's role in health and sustainability.
Passionate about education, Michael has established food styling and photography workshops in India and abroad. He collaborates closely with leading hospitality universities such as WGSHA Manipal and Symbiosis Pune, where, alongside Mugdha Sudhir, a culinary graduate specializing in research and Indian cuisine, he continues to teach courses on food media and holds workshops around the Art of Food Photography.
As a brand, Michael and Mugdha have curated food festivals, workshops, corporate books, and seminars in India, Canada, and the USA, working with renowned companies like Isuzu Motors, Kelloggs, Bajaj, and Hindustan Unilever.
An accomplished author and photographer, Michael is a multiple-time Gourmand Award winner. His critically acclaimed books include “The Diabetic Cookbooks” (Bloomsbury), “The East Indian Kitchen” (Westland), “Masala Dabba,” and “The Easy Guide to Pairing Indian Food With Wine” (Om Books International) and his latest series of 6 children's books.
Michael is also an Advisor to the South Asian Association for Gastronomy (SAAG), Chef Decoded, and Circee Health. As a Keynote Speaker, he has graced platforms like the Indian Restaurant Congress, Business World, and Ranchi BIT MESRA.
