At Cottagechef, we believe that every destination, every ingredient, and every community has a story waiting to be told.

Founded by Chef Michael Swamy, an alumnus of Le Cordon Bleu London, and creative strategist Mugdha Sudhir, Cottagechef is a boutique media and experiential storytelling company that operates at the intersection of food, travel, culture, photography, film, and hospitality.

For over three decades, Michael has worked with leading hospitality brands, tourism boards, luxury properties, food companies, and cultural institutions, creating experiences and narratives that go far beyond the plate.

What began in professional kitchens and catering assignments at international consulates evolved into a lifelong journey of exploration documenting food traditions, discovering forgotten cuisines, photographing wildlife and landscapes, writing award-winning books, and producing content that celebrates the people and places behind every story.

Today, Cottagechef creates compelling content, immersive experiences, documentaries, culinary journeys, workshops, publications, and brand collaborations that connect audiences to culture through authentic storytelling.

From the forests of India to the spice markets of Kerala, to the Himalayan range it is all about luxury hospitality and wildlife experiences to indigenous food traditions, our work captures the emotional connection between people, place, and food through visual content.
